Our Holiday in Raglan

Posted by Kayla | at 1:58 pm | 1 commentsAs you would have seen, I have called my blog cat 'Horse.' In Footrot Flats there is a massive cat called Horse. So when Dad got a cat he named it after biggy. For a loooong time, we kept Horse. As he aged, he started to do his business inside and not eat very much. When you rubbed your hand along his back, you could feel all of his bones. Then his kidneys started failing and we got to a point where we needed to put him out of his misery. I wrote him three letters. It was so horrible stroking his stiff body, where there was meant to be life. We had a family funeral under the camelia bushes, where we already had one cat buried. Horse was the best cat we ever had and I shed many tears over him. Particularly one day, when I told my sister to 'get her stuff off the floor before Horse weed on them.' That was so bad. Because he wasn't there to wee on them. At night, he wasn't there to wake us up becasue he wants to get in with us. He didn't meow at us to let him in the cat door. He didn't do anything. I forbid anyone to walk over where Horse is buried because that wouyld be betrayal. So as a tribute to Horse, I named my blog cat after him. Thanks

Rusty
Posted by Kayla | at 12:47 pm | 2 commentsMy goat Rusty went to Pet Day with me on Monday 3rd October. He earned two thirds, one second and one reserve champion. On Friday we will be attending Group Day at the Island Reserve. Before Prizegiving, we raced home to get Emma's shivering goat warm - he's only two weeks old - as it was raining really hard. We all got soaked to the bone. At home, I changed into warm DRY clothes and we zoomed back to school, after charlie had stopped shivering and was settled on a heat pad. My goat - seven weeks old - was fine. he hated the rain, but we weren't scared about him getting sick or anything. Emma got the trophy for best relationship with her goat. I could see it coming. Whenever she wasn't in the ring, she was holding her goat to her chest, covering him with towels and clothes, so he stayed warm. Keep checking out my blog and I'll keep you posted on all the latest!! Thanks

A Bit About Myself
Posted by Kayla | at 8:27 pm | 1 commentsHi, my name's Kayla. I attend Otewa School as a year 8. I live with my Mum, Dad, older brother Hayden and younger sister Emma. We have two black Labradors, they're both girls. The oldest is called Jess and her daughter is Tui. They both behave really well except Tui has a bad habit of jumping up on us - especially when she has muddy paws! We also have two, boy goats. They're both white and we can't tell them apart from each other. So that is why we've put different coloured collars on them!! Mine is called Rusty and Emma's is P.J. Both of them are two weeks old, but they don't have the same mother. They’re both really cute, Rusty especially!!! My hobbies are reading and playing netball. All my favourite authors are: John Grisham, Patrick Ness, Stephanie Meyer, J.K Rowling, Vince Ford, Robert Muchamore and Anne Frank. I enjoy reading sagas because I get more hooked into the series and hate it when I've finished all of the books. I play Netball for Combined and Year 8 Reps. The best positions - in my opinion - are the defensive ones. Especially WD or GD. In GK I feel that I don't get enough action. And I'm not very good at getting rebounds either. There's too much pressure. But I do love it, when just after they've thrown it, I jump up and hit it. Normally they get it back but it gives me a rush. That’s enough about me for today. Please come back and check out my other posts.
